Rooted in local values and a deep connection to the ocean, they not only share unforgettable adventures on the water but are also dedicated to giving back to the community. Currently, they are partnering with local organizations such as Maui Hero Projects, Whale Trust, and Lahaina Land Trust to support marine research, land preservation, and youth education by offering field trips, marine education programs, and internship opportunities.
Sea Quest Hawai'i
This Kanaka-owned company has been sharing the beauty of the Kona Coast since 1988 with snorkeling and rafting adventures at Kealakekua Bay, Honaunau Bay, and along lava tube sea caves. Guests experience vibrant reefs, sea turtles, dolphins, and humpback whales while learning about Hawai‘i’s history and culture. Sea Quest fosters respect for sacred places and supports ocean stewardship through eco-conscious practices and education.
Makoa Quest
This 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization offers immersive experiences and ecological education rooted in ‘ike kūpuna (ancestral knowledge). Through ocean adventures, cultural workshops, and ecological restoration activities, they guide participants in hands-on quests that honor the values of ho‘ona‘auao (education), ho‘ōla (restoration), and laulima (community collaboration). Their practices represent a new wave of agritourism rooted in stewardship, where visitors and locals alike help Hawai‘i’s culture and land to thrive
